July 23, 2026 - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: RGCC Southeastern Asia Pte. Ltd. ("RGCC SEA"), the regional commercial entity for RGCC International GmbH providing oncology diagnostic testing across Southeast Asia, and the National Cancer Society of Malaysia ("NCSM"), a cancer-focused non-profit organization dedicated to cancer screening, patient support, recovery, psychosocial support and advocacy in Malaysia, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to introduce and facilitate access to therapeutic sensitivity testing for eligible cancer patients within Malaysia's public healthcare sector, marking a meaningful step forward in expanding precision oncology capabilities for Malaysian patients.
The collaboration was born out of a shared recognition that a meaningful subset of cancer patients, particularly those who have failed multiple lines of systemic therapy, or who have undergone molecular profiling such as next-generation sequencing (NGS) without identifying actionable mutations, have limited access to further individualized treatment guidance.
In many such cases, both treating clinicians and patients face significant uncertainty regarding subsequent treatment options once established clinical guidelines and standard-of-care therapies have been exhausted or have failed to identify a clear therapeutic direction. This MOU seeks to address that gap by introducing therapeutic sensitivity testing as an additional option for such patients within Malaysia's public healthcare sector.
Under the terms of the MOU, RGCC SEA and NCSM will work together to introduce and facilitate access to the Onconomics therapeutic sensitivity test panel for eligible cancer patients identified by, or referred through, NCSM and its network of affiliated oncologists and public hospitals within the Ministry of Health (MOH) system.
RGCC SEA will assume sole responsibility for all specimen handling, shipment, customs clearance, and regulatory compliance associated with the testing process. For the duration of this MOU, the collaboration is scoped exclusively within Malaysia's public and government healthcare sector, including MOH-network hospitals.
A particularly notable element of the collaboration is RGCC SEA's commitment to providing NCSM with an allocation of two complimentary therapeutic sensitivity tests per calendar quarter for compassionate use. These complimentary tests are intended solely for critically ill patients who may benefit from testing but are unable to access it through the standard funding pathway.
This provision reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent the most vulnerable patients from accessing potentially life-changing diagnostic information.
Beyond diagnostic testing, the MOU establishes a commitment to ongoing education and knowledge-sharing. RGCC SEA will provide NCSM with periodic educational and scientific updates relating to therapeutic sensitivity testing. This reflects the ambition of both parties to build a long-term, clinically meaningful partnership that strengthens the capabilities of Malaysia's oncology community over time.
