Bali, Indonesia — RGCC is proud to have participated in the Indonesia International Cancer Conference (IICC) held from 3-5 October 2024. Themed "Bridging North and South in Accelerating Cancer Control Advancement," the conference aimed to address the critical issue of inadequate and inequitable access to cancer care in low and middle-income countries.

The IICC featured prominent plenary speakers including HRH Princess Dina Mired of the Kingdom of Jordan and Mary Nyangasi from the World Health Organization, among others. The event fostered collaboration among international and national leaders in cancer research and care, focusing on knowledge sharing with the aim of elevating cancer care globally.

Dr. Ioannis Papasotiriou, Director of RGCC, delivered a key presentation in the session titled "Personalized Breast Cancer Management." His talk highlighted the potential of liquid biopsy in the screening, early detection, and management of breast cancer. He was joined by representatives from MD Anderson Cancer Center in the United States, including Ana Refinetti, Wendy Woodward, and Rachel Layman, who also shared insights on advancements in cancer care.

The conference featured various tracks, including healthcare system and policy, cancer awareness, prevention and early detection, cancer management and palliative care, innovation and research, and cross-talk among cancer societies and survivors.
